Greetings good citizen, I participated [in as much as one is allowed to] in the 'democratic system as it currently exists in the planet's OLDEST established government yesterday.
Did I mention we're doing this wrong?
Walk in the door and the first thing you have to do is 'pick a chute'. If all of the candidates were on one ballot that would be one thing but during the 'primaries' you can only vote for the candidates of a specific party, not that there is a nickel's worth of difference between any of them. [but if you're going to bitch you should at least know what the hell you're talking about.
In 'If it were up to me' world there would be a blurb next to each candidate's name stating what the candidate hopes to accomplish by winning elected office.
Because come ASP each candidate will 'compete' against all comers via the 'fluidity' of their vision and the measurable outcome it will produce.
In that particular version of the future you no longer vote for an 'ideological representative', the tests speak for themselves and candidates whose greatest ambition is to continue living indoors and eating at regular intervals won't be good enough no matter how ferevant their desire to 'serve the public' (baloney canapes.)
Yes, in the future the 'administrators of civilization will 'earn' their position by demonstrating their vision for a better tomorrow for ALL.
Good for YOU (or the chosen few) is easy, making it work from stem to stern takes a considerably larger effort as well as an infinitely deeper level of understanding that doesn't exist in the modern political arena.
So it is those of us that could get to the polls (discounting those of us who knew they were even open) continued the political gully washer that started out west with incumbents of both major parties falling across the nation.
The privately owned media is calling this a tidal wave...when, as I state below, the system EXISTS to resist change. We CAN'T use the ballot box to fix it...it simply isn't possible. [by design!]
Even the so-called 'Progressives' are cleaning house, throwing the old guard to the dogs and letting 'fresh blood' take the reins.
Unfortunately, the 'learning curve' will dampen their zeal because it's not who occupies the chair, it's the system itself that needs changing.
The system exists to resist change.
The 'fear' here is if the system changes too much indictments will follow and that is to be avoided at all costs, including tossing democracy out the window. [like 'rights', you only have them until they become an 'inconvenience' then 'poof', they're gone!]
All 'justice' flows from the tip of a spear/barrel of a gun. 'Talk' only takes you so far just as indignance at your rights being trampled upon only adds insult to injury.
Are you waiting for it? Do you know what's coming next?
Stupid is its own reward.
Don't be stupid.
If we are about to embark on a campaign to 'preserve our rights' the first step is to burn 'em out. It is impossible to 'win' using THEIR rules.
Got it?
Thanks once again for opening you mind,
Gegner
