Which is to point out that if we returned 'New Years' to Dec 21st, Christmas would come almost immediately afterwards.
But those who make the rules were unaware, way back then, of the true solar cycle...and yuletide was an 'extended holiday' since there wasn't much you could do during the winter anyway.
More appropriately, the economy back then didn't rely as heavily as it does now on the gifting associated with the 'major holidays' which 'coincidentally' occur around the same time.
Small wonder Festivus is catching on as Capitalism increasingly falls from favor because it is a 'hot house plant' that only functions (somewhat) under 'ideal' conditions.
Want to retain Capitalism and the Good Life (for a few)? Are you ready to put your own children's heads on the chopping block so the already wealthy can continue to prosper?
Because that's what the 'future' holds.
One of today's posts in the NY Times tells us not to be too quick to rejoice over the Republican victory over the IRS [Since 'the taxman' works for the government, his budget is getting trimmed too. So if you're really an ardent anti-tax patriot now you have a better chance than ever of clipping the government on your 'tax liability' and not getting caught.
Funny how the various government sponsored Wars keep getting funded while the warehouse you send your kids to to be educated keeps getting less and less. Hell, the 'quality of education' is so poor people don't know a Capitalist from a Communist from a Muslim! Although they would link the three ideologies by saying 'they all hate America'...and they'd be right!
Capitalists claim to LOVE America but they fail to admit WHAT they love about it...what, you ask, do capitalists love about America? American Stupidity!

Second is the abolition of CASH, physical currency is totally outlawed. [From here on out your money is for YOU and YOU ALONE. Money is non-transferable [between individuals] and can only be earned through work. Debt in ANY form is illegal ('quid pro quo' brings out the worst in humans!) They will go to any length to collect an 'imagined' debt.) Saying the words YOU OWE ME is an exile offense. If you want no help in life then help no one.]
Third is the 'eradication' of the world's banking system (and the associated Stock Markets worldwide. Society exists to care for its members. SSI is a scam that a true society has no need of. {SSI was created by capitalists using the actuarial tables to impose a tax on the living that the majority wouldn't live long enough to collect, how's that for 'predatory'?]
Hard to believe we need a place called Hell...
Fourth is placing the law 'beyond the reach' of the 'self-interested'. Those who live by the laws will make the laws (in accordance with the H.A.E.) and they will also 'interpret' the law. The law belongs to those who must live under it and NOT people who claim to 'specialize' in the law. (which is to eliminate the 'profession' of law, which is directly responsible for the injustice that pervades today's SOCIETY.)
Finally, we keep making what we need and start a massive campaign to alleviate (capitalist fostered) poverty while implementing programs intended to 'heal' the wounded planet. {housing and every 'service' imaginable becomes free (with certain exceptions like those that don't pass muster with the H.A.E.)
[As previously stated much of what you paid for under capitalism will be 'free' with homes and transportation becoming 'gimmes' as well as utilities being 'free' as well.]
We COULD have a world that values ALL of it's members TOMORROW but we don't and the reason is...YOU don't know what NO means!
