Greetings good citizen, caught the tail end of Vice News last night and they reported on a lawsuit, filed on the behalf of future generations against the US regarding climate change.
Basically the suit claims the US is not doing it's part in preserving the 'quality of the environment' for future generations.
The speculation over the outcome is all over the map. Some say the SC will ignore the suit, it [weirdly] has the right to 'pick & choose' actions it feels are 'relevant' [yet another example of 'we're doing this wrong']
What's really on trial here, good citizen? More for Me capitalism. It is the reckless, unsustainable practices of the self-interested that throw caution to the wind so they can MAYBE make a buck by devastating the environment.
I like Vice News because it shines a light where the corporate owned media turns a blind eye.
What are you gonna do when it reports the suit was defeated or [more likely] 'dismissed' by the political appointee sitting on the bench?
Blame politicians? or do we back up a step and blame the people who fund the politicians? People we are absolutely powerless and ineffective against because our political system runs on the most ephemeral of all substances, MONEY?
Let me take this moment to remind you that we don't have a MONEY problem, we have a MASSIVE LEGAL problem of craven cowards who turn a blind eye to the public interest for the sake of a PAYOFF.
The lack of VIGILANCE has allowed our political system [shaky from the start] to collapse from being a guardian of the public interest into a corrupt swamp where LAWS are bought and sold...with an equally as corrupt media.
[Admitting the news is FAKE only serves to confuse you, it doesn't diminish the fact that the powerful dictate the content, often 'buffering' their own actions or misdirecting the viewer away from their culpability.]
Again, we're doing this WRONG, you can't ELECT fair and unbiased, it has to be PROVEN and QUALIFIED.
How do job seekers PROVE they are QUALIFIED? With their resumes! [What they have done before speaks for them. while most resume's are works of fiction and grammatic wordplay, often a trail of excellence is easy to follow.
How pathetic is it that most of the morons running things today have never held a position of responsibility IN THEIR LIVES! [prior to entering public service.]
Worse is how many became officers in the military via ROTC without ever having any combat experience...and that's the ONLY 'position of responsibility' they have to draw upon.
But I digress.
The question at hand is who will 'save the planet' [for future generations] if those pretending to be the adults in the room are under the thumb of the spoiled children running our political system?
Let's take this one step further...are YOU good with turning a blind eye [What the hey, you'll be dead by the time shit falls apart, what do YOU care?]
Because those PRETENDING to manage this planet in our name live in places relatively 'untouched' by industrial waste and pollutants [although we can only speculate this is part of the reason why they didn't hesitate to ship US smokestacks overseas, regardless of the 'social cost' like prisons overflowing with workers they can't employ, but hey, at least it's not THEIR KIDS, too bad about yours though...(can we get a 'nothing personal'?) how 'bout a rigid middle finger? Same thing, right?]
As the population explodes, sustainability become critical, even the 'comfortably numb' know this but they keep tripping on their pecker when someone points this out so nothing gets done.
Like a weed. we have to kill the 'root' of the problem and guess what that root is?
Right in one again! [Did I mention you're GOOD at this? I did, well, keep it up, we'll make a rebel out of you yet! What's that? YOU ALREADY ARE!
Then WHY WON'T YOU GET OFF YOUR DEAD ASS AND DO SOMETHING? WTF!
Which is to bring up another point entirely. You don't have to dig too hard to reveal 'armchair' anythings...from CEO's to sports figures/managers. Walter Mitty is alive and well and living in ALL of us...well not me because I don't need to live 'vicariously' to escape my 'boring' life.
Our habitat isn't going to collapse tomorrow but it's going to sooner than any of us expect if we don't end this 'More for ME BS that masquerades as 'Every MAN a King!' and yeah, you read that right. Women can play too but they gotta be BUTCH to succeed.
They already have a bigger pair than most men because the word 'consequences' isn't part of their vocabulary.
Ironically, consequences are something you live with, not think about. It's a damning indictment that many rise above but your 'generic' female doesn't give a damn about 'consequences', probably why a majority of conservatives are female.
[Three things people don't like, cameras, mirrors and the truth.]
PS: You don't have to LIKE what I share and I'm NOT telling you WHAT TO THINK, I am merely giving YOU something to THINK ABOUT. [remove the 'personal' and then contemplate what's left.]
I'm pressed for time once again so I'll leave this one here.
Wow, how did the soapbox get up here? Long way down and I didn't bring a ladder...shit!
Until next time, thank you for letting me inside your head,
Gegner
