Greetings good citizen, is it possible to reshuffle the deck and come away with a deeper understanding of who, why and what you are?
The 'search for meaning' has consumed many who couldn't accept 'it is what it is.' Detach it from 'meaning' and what remains is what it is.
But the, er, 'restless' mind (heart) yearns to believe there is more to it than 'born, live, die'...while reality teaches there isn't anything more, which also informs us that it is also no less, um, amazing.
People who refer to other people as 'waste' are squandering their own existence. We are ALL here to LEARN and even the least of us has a lesson to teach...and if you process it fully, that lesson is valuable indeed.
Always remarkable to observe those who are full of themselves having an epiphany [Even more 'entertaining' is watching them forcefully reject whatever it was that made them (momentarily) question their deeply held beliefs.]
Such moments are rare, making them that much more 'precious'.
Not everyone who volunteers to 'educate' you has useful information to share, the most ardent 'teacher' is often blind to the holes in their carefully crafted worldviews.
Indeed they don't seek to teach as much as they seek 'affirmation'.
How ironic that right and wrong are relative terms which both offer valuable lessons? Why do the baser types hold knowledge in such low esteem?
The 'rub' here is those who don't learn will repeat the lessons until they do, life is an unforgiving instructor with unlimited patience.
With that in mind, 'why' isn't the most pressing question of existence. A better question would be 'what am I missing?'
Just had an epiphany of my own I'd like to share, what if the 'purpose' of this existence is to get you to open your mind?
Don't you find it alarming, especially among my peer group (the older generation) that so many have closed minds or worse, vacant ones?
How fortunate for humanity that a individual's head can be filled with nothing but nonsense and they are still capable of functioning adequately.
Worse, the deeper the BS, the more 'successful' they are! [Naturally 'success' is another 'relative term'...]
Those who fail to value knowledge will be doomed to seek it in perpetuity.
Will this be the epitaph of humanity?
We'll [the cognizant] see.
Until next time, Head.

ReplyDeletePundits are especially bewildering although they are paid to express certain beliefs as 'facts'...(no pay here but most of this is opinion, I don't even hold it out as 'wisdom', if it leads you there, good for you!)
Those who fail to value knowledge will be doomed to seek it in perpetuity.
