Greetings good citizen, I'm either singing your song or you're one complacent bunch! Admitedly, I inject humor into everything I write so if nothing else you'll get the occasional chuckle out of lending me your mind for a few minutes.
That aside, I am passionate about what I share here. [I developed a new system of government on my own because a 'suitable alternative' didn't exist. I'm not the first or the only one to take this 'mission' on but from what I've read mine is the only 'practical' [and more importantly 'sustainable'] system out there.
Why practical? Because I took what already exists and modified it. I tossed the 'front office' in the trash bin and democratized the rest. I wiped the political arena clean and provided the people with a 'functioning democracy' that they truly control. I even 'streamlined' the Justice system so the guilty would be punished instead of 'sidestepping justice' via magical legal 'loopholes'.
Then I crafted social statutes that allow our diverse civilization to unite with the like-minded. [Deep in the minutia of A Simple Plan is the 'Enclaves' statute which establishes 'birds of a feather' to flock together.] Where, say, Bikers could band together to live 'the biker' lifestyle. The idea being since enclaves are planned, they would be situated where they wouldn't bother people who were disturbed by the sound of open pipes at all hours of the day or night.
Same for 'rock stars' and other, er, 'noisy' lifestyles...one would even assume drag racing enthusiasts would 'band together' to set up the kind of community they would enjoy!
There wouldn't be any age restrictions but the assumption is eventually you'd grow tired of 'keeping up appearances' and want to 'calm things down' just a little.
While ASP would encourage loud pursuits to band together it would also make provisions for people intolerant of noise exceeding 80 decibels.
Just a guess but I'm going to expect most mothers would opt for 'quiet zones' once they are with child [making for some mighty disappointed Dads...but, under ASP, society cares for all it's children from the cradle to the grave, not that ANYONE would be allowed to become a 'baby factory', the planet will no longer tolerate it.
Which is to say while 'traditional families' would be 'encouraged' the system would focus on the well-being of the child/children.
'Society' would no longer require a man and a woman to rear children together [especially when it would be more beneficial to the child if they didn't!] Romance is 'weird' and often has nothing to do with appropriate 'parenting skills'.
Oh yeah, and the new financial structure would allow females to have their children when they were young enough to get pregnant 'naturally'...IF THEY CHOOSE TO DO SO, Sadly this means the 'test tube' would be removed from the table for females over 25.
That said, this could be rolled back to zero due to overpopulation. If Mother nature didn't provide you with functional equipment, perhaps we should 'take the hint' and let it go at that.
Somewhat shocking to see is that if you didn't get pregnant in High School then you wound up in a fertility clinic!
If you're over thirty, you and just about everybody you know is receiving treatment for infertility.
We can thank the current batch of 'social engineers' for this [it was their way of addressing the population crisis, to price the poor out of reproducing!
But there's the Legendary [inhumanity] again. Make it so the low income COULDN'T get their feet on the ground until after their prime then watch them squander fortunes pursuing childen they would have had no problem conceiving when they were younger.
Did you think this was an 'accident'? (Or worse, and unintended consequence?)
Nope, it is the apex of 'social engineering' brought to you by our self-professed betters!
Oh how they laugh at what you believe is your 'misfortune'!
There are other fine points, partly about social order and sharing but the main changes come under the headers of 'Justice for all' (via the elmination of 'specialists' lawyers and their cousin, 'the judge'...did you know you need zero legal background to gain a seat on the bench?)
What's your take on the kind of 'system' you'd like to live under...[just keeping in mind you have to share the planet with the rest of us so you're ideas better be 'crowd pleasers' as opposed to an exercise in 'I have spoken!'
That's why the world we live in is as it is, screwed up!
