Greetings good citizen, weather has cooperated wonderfully the entire weekend and we're off for a family cookout at the northernmost outpost of the clan.
Typically 'Trash Day' our contractor takes this day off...but he'll be by tomorrow. (You know you live in a small town when you have to hire someone to pick up your rubbish.)
But I digress, life goes on and we collectively 'celebrate' having a 'long weekend'..and the 'revolution' while pondering whether or not it's time to do it again.
IF we were to study the history of revolts we'd find we're actually a pretty complacent bunch, often not 'rising up' until the situation is truly dire.
Somehow 'habit' triumphs over the feeling of 'dissatisfaction' that we long ago resigned ourselves to believing is our lot in life.
Sure, we talk about it all the time, especially when some new abomination is revealed...but we are missing a key ingredient, a 'better deal' to revolt for.
Worse, looking back over history, we inexplicably exchange one self-interested despot for their virtual identical!
It's like the revolt gets 'hijacked' mid-stream and the forces of evil just bubble to the top, over and over again.
Truly baffling (and widely ignored) is how Monarchy around the world pretty much stepped off the throne and retreated into their treasuries without so much as and argument after centuries of ruling with an iron fist (and an utter disregard for the welfare of their 'subjects'...that said, one gets the impression they peeled the bulls-eye off their backs and stepped out of the spotlight to provide the people with the 'illusion' they were governing themselves...because that's the game these days, the 'illusion' of participation linked to the illusion of self-rule.)
Was this the original 'win-win' situation?
You can be certain they're still patting themselves on the back for that bit of 'slight of hand' although this 'change of status' has probably resulted in 'bloodlines' flowing in a different pattern than they once were headed...and might be what drove the 'change' in the first place.
Centuries of inbreeding was causing mounting health problems as the pool of 'royals' shrunk to a tiny puddle where everybody was related to everybody else.
But we are 'creatures of habit' and some habits have a tendency to die hard. We can only speculate whether or not the 'in-breeding' among the royals has been curbed or if the recent, er, 'trend' towards parading one's 'royal roots' hasn't set the course back on it's original disasterous course.
OKAY: Let's take a mental side trip, one where we embark on the next revolt but this time we really do put the emphasis on Justice.
The 'great wave' of revolt that allegedly deposed the Monarchies of the world was fueled by 'free enterprise' and the even more unlikely premise of 'every man a king!'
I belabor the obvious when I point to the results of THAT particular 'ad campaign'!
Most came away from that one feeling 'duped' to say the least...and so it continues.
So the next revolt won't be to 'fix' the economic system. It will be to fix the Justice system (correcting the economic system will 'flow' from establishing an air tight justice system, one every member of society can see for themselves is just.
Without that, the rest is 'vanity'. Without justice your civilization is a cesspool. What's the 'first thing the justice system needs to fix? Equality!
The law (and those administering it) MUST treat EVERYONE 'equally' (It must also sort 'pretenders' from their false claims of being 'special cases'.)
IF you don't 'start there' the rest is just an exercise in shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic...the very definition of an exercise in futility.
A Simple Plan starts with the Human Anti-exploitation Law, the law from which all other laws are tested! [Did I mention that because of this the laws will be simple and few?]
From there the rest of the 'equation' is easy, Justice, Equality and Peace, the three pillars of society. We can safely abandon the 'security state' and the 'jobs program' masquerading as the national security complex because 'government' will FINALLY be 'By the people, OF the people and FOR the people!
The greedy few will be denied their claim over what belongs to us all. God didn't scribble no 'bill of sale' and Mother Nature doesn't have a cash register so the 'privileged' can go twist in the wind...and that will likely be their fate.
Um, 'organizing' a revolt takes much more than merely raising awareness that a problem, even one centuries old, exists.
But, and the royals know this, it starts with 'hearts and minds'.
So where is your heart on this anniversary of the nation's founding?
Look back with a critical eye and wonder why Britian 'gave up' so easily. The pat answers history teachers spit out don't stand up to historical precedent or closer inspection.
As a thought experiment, kick around the idea of 'regime change' [once you've imbibed copious amount of 'liquid courage'] and see where it goes?
What would YOU (and your fellow conspirators) do?
Have a Safe & Happy 4th, my fellow American's and Bon Chance to my European readers!
