Labor Day 2016

Greetings good citizen, Here we are again, at the 'unofficial end of summer' here in the northern marches. Our overdue fall-like weather has finally arrived and our thoughts are turning towards putting summer away and preparing for the arrival of Winter.

For most of us, that's what Labor Day represents. No irony should be lost that this was once a day for political gatherings where candidates and other 'wannabes' would 'headline' celebrations set to commemorate this hard won holiday.

Yes, good citizen, Labor Day wasn't a 'gimme', the owners of industry deeply resented (and resisted) having their 'pockets picked' for yet another 'frivolous' holiday.

In my last few posts we have encountered words and ideas that have fallen 'out of favor' with our capitalist overlords, most notably Liberty and Tyranny but has anyone else notice that our good for nothing media has also virtually eliminated the term 'working class' from our social lexicon?

Yup, if the media were to be believed, workers no longer exist! [Probably why the plight of the working poor is widely ignored.]

Politicians don't want to associate with 'workers'. They'd rather cater to the Middle Class, which has become a shadow of its former self since 'Morning in America.'

Screw the workers, Hillary wants to help restore the Middle Class to it's [imaginary] former glory.

Now, society in the US is, according to the media [a wholly owned subsidiary of Corporate USA] is 'classless'. There are no 'rich' and the poor are merely those waiting to come into their fortune!

Some have better circumstance than others but this is LUCK, not 'class' [while the poor remain poor and the rich are usually born that way.]

Which is to point out you can 'quibble' all you want but the 'facts' remain unchanged.

What was once a celebration of labor's power has been turned into what capitalism sees on every day off, an excuse to put on a 'sale'.

Ah, capitalism at its finest! [Cheat 'em all and the dumb ones TWICE!]

Now we come to a conundrum that our teachers don't explain because like money, the topic is 'off-limits', why is labor so reviled? A lot of it has to do with 'Morning in America' and those who hijacked the government they complain about so loudly. But their intent was to destroy government, they didn't capture it to improve its function!

Nope, they did what all despots do, they turned it into a trouble-maker that specializes in creating problems were there were none while ignoring the problems it was created to handle.

How many of you are astounded it's looking like Hillary in a landslide while NONE of you plan on voting for her? Is Jill Stein even out there? [Not according to the corporate owned media!] Isn't it odd how non-mainstream candidates literally vanish in plain sight? What do you think happened to Bernie?

On the topic of Bernie I'm deeply disappointed but given the circumstances, I'd have done the same thing. Since 'Morning in America' one has to be a sell-out to hold public office, they'd probably repossess his house if he reneged on his pledge to obey.

I keep returning to the 'hard won' nature of this minor holiday that stinking capitalists everywhere resist paying you for if they can weasel out of it. [Ever wonder where the 'full day before and the full day after' rule came from? Yeah, opportunists abuse long holiday weekends but the rule only applies to holidays and holiday pay.]

Don't go down that path, capitalists are such cheapskates it's no wonder poverty is everywhere!

But no, the poor are LAZY! Isn't THAT the problem?

Is it beginning to look like the stupid being in charge is the REAL problem?

Let's turn our attention to a larger problem, shall we? It serves little purpose to convince the convinced, we WANT change, others do too but they either aren't seeking it OR they're seeking it in THE WRONG PLACES (can you hear me Trump supporters?)

I...YOU need to educate likeminded individuals, one to the idea that change is possible and two of the dire need to act!

If YOU don't feel the urgency then I have done a poor job of motivating you...and change will remain out of reach!

IF YOU want a future for your children and theirs, the time to act is NOW!

If you can reflect on your life and believe it 'wasn't so bad'...then relax, my warnings are wasted on you...sorry to rob you of the one thing money can't buy, time.

But if YOU want a better world for us all, YOU have to be willing to fight for it!

Rise to this challenge and tell the world the time has come!

Thank you, brave citizen, for letting me inside your head!
