Heresy

Greetings good citizen, constant reader knows I have no truck with 'Spirit in the Sky' [ultimate scapegoat for the slavers] so it isn't heresy of the 'garden variety' that we will focus on today.

Nope, different kind of 'heresy' altogether! Capitalism is like owning a vehicle that doesn't have reverse. If you have a problem with the economy [one that keeps happening because prices aren't regulated] there isn't a mechanism that allows prices to go backwards.

Prices climb too high, your customer base shrinks to nothing. Start asking everyone to pay more for basic necessities and the rest of the economy takes a nosedive.

How do our, er, elected officials fix this, they can't. The MOST they can do is raise the 'minimum wage'...which helps NO ONE!

Since its inception nobody has been able to 'live' on the minimum wage. You can keep food in your stomach but after that everything else becomes a trade-off. One usually buys a used junker to keep wheels under your butt [gotta get to work on time or you won't get to keep that minimum wage!] If you don't live with relatives, you're obliged to seek out the lowest rent possible. You also wear clothes until they literally become rags.

Underwear, if you bother at all, are in tatters because nobody sees them...and if they do, theirs is no better.

[But enough of the 'personal inventory'. Told you in the intro I'm poor.]

Since capitalism is 'Extractive', intentionally designed to bleed you at every opportunity, it CAN'T be fixed. Lower prices here and they'll spring up over there because they can!

No irony should be lost on the fact that the best economic conditions EVER were during the years after the crash of 29 and the implementation of the punitive 90% tax rate on unearned income (sales receipts.)

What drove this 'prosperity?'

In order to deprive the tax man of his cut, the owners of commerce decided to PAY THEIR HELP what they would otherwise have paid in taxes! [giving birth to a previously 'non-existent' middle class.]

Their ancient equivalent, Noblemen, were a tiny fraction of what altering the tax code achieved.

When 'market saturation' finally caught up to the capitalists it was like hitting a brick wall. People had come to expect a rising standard of living and now...because 'shareowner number one' also needed his annual fix of 'more', choices had to be made.

So instead of raising all boats by eliminating wasteful income streams, they chose to embark on a false program of 'Trade Liberalization'.

They 'cooked the books' and concocted evidence that workers overseas had a lower expense profile [which may have been 'truish' in the beginning but not so much afterwards...and they destroyed the environment in the process of their relentless pursuit of 'more for me'.]

No story is ever 'straight-forward, thus all the 'rambling' and jumping from topic to topic, please bear with me.

Understand, Globalization was not done FOR YOU, it was done TO YOU [so a few could remain 'richer than they knew what to do with!]

So much poverty and so little need for it. But sadly I digress!

Thank you for being patient, we have finally arrived at the 'heresy' part of today's, er, 'lesson' [but it's only a lesson if YOU learn something!]

I'll begin by asking why do we pay for things? Under our current scam, er, scheme we pay for EVERYTHING [heck, they even have us paying for water on a planet covered in the stuff!]

Everything with a price tag on it is someone else's 'income stream'. It is how THEY make money...now many things you don't NEED to pay for but other things you're stuck. Since our species wasn't born with the ability to hover, you need a space to occupy and go about the business of living.

Unless you were born with a trust fund the only 'free parking' out there is where you DON'T want to be...like the middle of the desert or the middle of the ocean [while we can 'tread water' we can't do it indefinitely...]

Under A Simple Plan housing/a place to be, fitting to your circumstances, is a 'gimme'. You would NEVER own it but you also wouldn't have to PAY FOR IT in perpetuity.

Talk about an 'economic boost' imagine what that would do as far as stimulating our long stagnant economy? But wait, it gets better because with Real Estate off the market, it wouldn't turn into a 'land rush'!

But wait a minute...what would that mean for people like Trump that make their money renting property?

Sorry, but 'the needs of the many outweigh the need of the few or the one' In other words, 'get a job, ya bum!' IF working for a paycheck is good enough for 99% of us, it's good enough for you too!

Which, naturally, is 'heresy' as far as capitalists are concerned.

But wait, there's more

Like FREE [as in costs you zero!] education for life (smarts should always be free, it provides us with a better world we can all enjoy!) NOBODY wants to live surrounded by STUPID 'superstitious peasants'! [Yet for reasons nobody can quite fathom, the capitalists are cool with it, in fact, the dumber the better as far as they're concerned...and that should teach you something all by itself!

This too is Heresy...[Think YOU can't handle the truth? The truth makes capitalists apoplectic!]

Here's a real bit of heresy intended to make your head explode because it goes against EVERYTHING you've been taught!

A guaranteed job for life with a wage you can live on regardless of your profession. {STOP, we've got the 'incentive' thing covered...and no, everybody will NOT be 'paid the same'.}

The 'living wage' proviso is intended to wipe out poverty, not 'equalize' the population.

In a nutshell the job for life provision speaks to another 'flaw' capitalism refuses to address, that it is through our labor that we 'participate' in society.

More than half of working aged adults don't work or earn enough to support themselves and that is due directly to 'for profit' capitalism.

Understand, we do what we do because it NEEDS doing...doesn't matter if you get paid for it or not! The businesses that employ you WOULDN'T EXIST if the 'need' for them was absent.

Keeping in mind that we do what we do because it NEEDS doing, WHETHER WE ARE PAID TO OR NOT! What does this tell you about 'profits'?

Not all 'profit' is measured in dollars and cents...is it? Nobody PAYS you to bathe but you do it to prevent disease/stay healthy and probably most importantly, so you will be more socially acceptable!

Don't HAVE TO but most of us WANT TO!

Let's not descend into crackpot Libby arguments of 'want vs need'. [These numb-nuts will actually argue that you 'want to breathe'...then say but you don't 'need to'. You know what I have to say to THAT, don't cha? But I can't because this blog isn't behind the 'decency' firewall. I have to keep to clean or I'll get censored...and some capitalists would prefer what I share in this piece remain behind an 'opt-in' firewall.

They do love STUPID! [to the point they have jiggered the education system to turn out ignorant children who are totally unaware of what's expected of them or what they can expect of society...because capitalist don't like questions they can't answer with a simple 'because I said so.'

Which is to point out we really do need to 'weed the garden' and rid ourselves of those who fail to respect the value of civil society.

This is why we would exile people in their 'birthday suits' because clothes are one of the most basic benefits of civil society. If you can't live by the rules (which are simple and few) then you don't deserve the benefits...so you will be invited to live as you please, away from civil society.

Some WILL survive this harsh punishment. [For all but the toughest, exile will be a death sentence] BUT for the steady stream of those who believe they are 'smarter than the rest of us', those exiled would surely perish.

I don't need to draw you a picture of what is implied here, do I?

While not 'heresy' there will be no prisons under A Simple Plan. Summary exile is reserved for the most heinous of crimes. Once the 'hardened criminals' have been culled from our midst, exile will be rare [and those exiled early on will finally perish.] Although it's a big ol' world, the 'steady trickle' might go on for quite a while.

IF we fail to convert to a 'sustainable' system of commerce, one that exists to improve society rather than drain it so a few may 'prosper', we are faced with some serious social issues that refuse to be ignored.

I also firmly believe we established long ago that 'brains and wealth' are two entirely separate entities. The 'truly smart' aren't rich and the truly rich aren't 'smart' (no matter what they think!)

Was that another POP? Damn, you are just too sensitive! [Nevermind your head being so packed full of nonsense you can't identify up with both hands and a hunting dog!]

Well, better give it a rest before something major breaks.

Thanks for letting me inside your head,

Gegner
