The criminals have one tool and it stopped working a long time ago [because the consequences of using it 'as designed' would END them.]
They still can't pull off the famine they need without being deposed/overthrown and exiled for incompetence.
Yep, the closer you examine what's going on behind the scenes the more it looks like the nuclear option is the only card they have left to play.

We (as rare as this is) are producing 2nd generation homeless and 3rd generation 'marginally attached' to a constantly shrinking workforce...a workforce that continues to shrink because of the effects of 'market consolidation' [the end result of 'more for me']
Do we have 'too many humans' or is our government FUBAR?
If you are 'thumpy' [biblically inclined] you tend to discount the notion that the almighty is incompetent, preferring to 'ignore' the problem as one of life's 'mysteries'. [This is why religion will no longer be a paid field of endeavor, wanna be a preacher/priest, knock yourself out but if you even pretend it's 'your job' you WILL BE EXILED.
Religion aside, IF there are 'too many humans' [resulting in rampant poverty, resurgent infectious diseases and a permanent underclass that has no way to improve their circumstances (without resorting to extreme violence) or overthrowing the incompetents responsible for their plight.
The 'obvious' solution is altering our system of commerce. Something for nothing [UBI] isn't the answer although the skilless are easier to control than the self-sufficient, which is why the 'ignorant' remain impoverished BY DESIGN!
[HUGE swaths of the planet's population remain ignorant of the FACT it DOESN'T have to be like this!
Yesterday I pointed to the media's silence regarding the abandonment of Civil defense AND the legally mandated, and therefore publicly funded vaccination program.
Why do you suppose the exact same media ignores the plight of the impoverished?
Because it would expose Capitalism as the FRAUD it really is! Our government, that thing we PRETEND protects us is run by the same people that refuse to abandon the FRAUD.
